Surface Creek Animal Shelter
Our Mission
Surface Creek Animal Shelter is dedicated to rescuing, healing, and protecting companion animals in the Surface Creek Valley. We strive to unite pets with loving, committed forever families to promote healthy, life-long relationships.
Our Story
Our journey began in 1997 when community members formed the Friends of Cedaredge Animal Control to support animal welfare. Since opening our current facility in 2018, we have remained a local cornerstone driven by the unwavering generosity of our community and the tireless efforts of our volunteers.
How We Care
We believe in socially conscious sheltering, providing every animal with high-quality care, daily exercise, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery. Our operations are supported by our dedicated team, local grants, and our own Shelter Shoppe thrift store, ensuring every resident is safe until they find a permanent home.
Your Next Best Friend
We are passionate about forever family matching, actively advocating for and screening our animals to ensure the perfect fit for your lifestyle. When you adopt from us, you aren't just getting a pet; you are starting a new chapter of companionship supported by our commitment to lasting bonds.
