Cat Care Durango
Our Mission
Cat Care Durango is a free-roaming cat rescue and sanctuary dedicated to protecting the welfare and dignity of all cats in every stage of their lives. We strive to improve the quality of life for feline friends while connecting them with loving, committed homes where they can truly thrive.
Our Story
Founded in 2023, we were born from a deep passion for cat advocacy in the Southwest Colorado area. Our roots are built on over 20 years of experience in the field, including instrumental efforts to spay and neuter over 45,000 cats to support a healthier feline population and reduce suffering.
How We Care
We operate a specialized, feline-only rescue facility in Durango where cats of all ages and medical needs receive compassionate attention in a calm, intimate setting. Beyond our sanctuary, we are active participants in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs and manage a dedicated network of foster caregivers to ensure every cat receives the specific environment they need to blossom.
The Adoption Partnership
Adoption is the cornerstone of our mission, and we prioritize finding the perfect fit for both you and your future companion. Our team spends significant time understanding each cat's unique personality and history, allowing us to make thoughtful matches that create lasting, joyful bonds.
Connect With Us
We invite you to visit our facility at 72 Suttle St., Unit A, to meet our adoptable residents and experience the joy of connecting with these amazing animals. If you are ready to find a new best friend or want to support our life-saving work, please explore our adoptable cats online or stop by during our open hours to say hello!

10/21 - Our kitties have put their current cat trees right into retirement! 😹 We’re on the lookout for some new cat trees to give our feline friends a little upgrade! Each of our kitty rooms has different needs, and we’d love to find the purrfect fit for everyone. Our young adults in the Zoomie Zone would love a tall, 7-foot cat tree to climb, explore, and keep an eye on all the action! Our seniors and kittens would benefit from shorter, sturdy cat trees with safe, easy-to-reach perches for lounging, playing, and catching those all-important cat naps. If you’re looking for a special way to spoil our kitties, a cat tree would make a purrfect gift! 🎁🐾
