Animal Friends Alliance

Our Mission

Animal Friends Alliance is dedicated to providing comprehensive companion animal resources, services, and education to our community to prevent homelessness and promote the human-animal bond. We believe that all companion animals deserve to experience a healthy home where they are wanted, cared for, and loved.

Our Story

Formed in January 2020, our organization emerged from the union of Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue & Grooming. By combining our strengths, we have created a unified force dedicated to supporting both the animals in our care and the families who love them.

How We Help

We operate as a limited-admission, adoption-guarantee facility that provides a safe, temporary home for thousands of cats and dogs each year. Our care model is rooted in transparency and comprehensive veterinary support, ensuring every animal receives vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and medical screenings before adoption. Beyond our shelters, we actively work to keep pets in their original loving homes through resources like our Kibble Supply Pet Food Pantry, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and behavior support services.

Your Adoption Journey

Adopting a new family member is a joyful partnership, and we are here to ensure you find the perfect match. We take the time to review our adoption policies with you, providing a supportive environment to discuss any concerns and set you and your new pet up for lasting success. Whether you meet your new best friend at our Jason Telleen Adoption Center or our Everyday Adoption Center, our team is committed to making your transition together as seamless as possible.

Get Involved

10/9 - This story is just one of the many our Community Cat Program encounters every single day. Established in 2014, our Community Cat Program was created to help stray and feral cats who too often go without the care and support they desperately need. We are committed to humanely managing the cat population, preventing endless cycles of reproduction, and giving these cats the best possible chance at a healthier, safer future. But the truth is, we cannot do it alone. Every cat we help depends on the compassion and generosity of people like you. This $5 Friday, would you consider making a small donation to help us continue this life-changing work? Your $5 gift may seem small, but together, our donations make a BIG difference for cats who have nowhere else to turn. Thank you. 🙏 #animalrescue #tnr #straycat

10/5 - Who’s cutting onions? 🥹😭 Plank just celebrated his one year anniversary with his adopter, check out his Happy Tail below! 👇 “Last year I started a new job after graduating and was ready to start looking for a pet. I heard from some friends about Animal Friends Alliance and decided to look on their website just to see what dogs they had. However, when I saw Plank’s photo and profile I knew that I had to go visit him that same day. The first time I met Plank at the shelter he came straight up to me and licked my face. I knew he was the funniest and fluffiest dog I had ever seen and I was sure it was only a matter of time before I had to take him home with me. I knew I loved him already and a few weeks later I came back to add him to my family. It’s been a year since I adopted Plank and we both couldn’t be happier! Since he’s been in my life we’ve been on tons of adventures including hiking, swimming, playing in the snow, running in the park, and driving to get sweet treats. He has become my shadow and guard dog while I’m at home and follows me wherever I go. He loves to meet new people and has been able to make some new doggie friends as well! He loves our nighttime routine of cuddles/treats on the bed, and wakes me up excitedly every morning ready to play. I love bringing him home bones and watching him run around proudly with them and I love learning more about his goofy personality every day! I’m so grateful I found him and appreciate all the love he’s received from animal friends staff over this past year!!” 📸: @plankthechow
