Since 1981, the Cat Care Society has been dedicated to being a safe and enriching home for cats on their journey to find a loving family. We believe that all cats are worthy of dignity, love, and respect, regardless of their age or physical abilities.
Founded by Dr. Linda East and Lynn Rowe, we have spent over 40 years improving the lives of cats in the Denver metro area and beyond. We are a limited-admission, non-profit shelter that works tirelessly to provide life-saving medical care and community support for people who love cats.
We pride ourselves on our free-roaming approach, where cats are housed in colony rooms rather than cages, allowing them to socialize, play, and thrive while they wait for their forever homes. Our dedicated team provides compassionate care for many cats, including those with special medical needs like diabetes, FIV, or kidney disease. We are committed to ensuring every cat feels safe and valued during their time with us.
We know that adopting a cat is a joyful life event, and our professional adoption counselors are here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. We look beyond the surface to understand the unique personality of each animal, ensuring a successful partnership that lasts a lifetime. Whether you are a first-time owner or a seasoned cat expert, we provide the resources you need to give your new companion the best possible start.
We invite you to visit our Lakewood shelter to meet our feline residents and discover the joy of adoption. You can also explore our available cats online or learn more about our upcoming educational seminars and community events. We cannot wait to help you welcome your new best friend home.
