Humane Society of the South Platte Valley

Our Mission

The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley is dedicated to providing compassionate care for animals in need while serving the communities of south Denver. We believe every animal deserves a safe, supportive environment on their journey toward finding a loving forever home.

Serving Our Community

Established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, HSSPV was created to bridge a vital gap in animal welfare services across the south Denver area. We are proud to be a dedicated resource for our neighbors and the animals they care for, working every day to foster a more humane community.

How We Care

Our shelter in Littleton serves as a sanctuary for animals waiting for their next chapter. We provide comprehensive support, including medical care and behavior training, to ensure each animal is ready for their new family. By offering services like a low-cost clinic and expert training resources, we strive to keep pets and their owners together and thriving.

Your Partner in Adoption

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a loyal dog or a charming cat, our team is committed to making the process transparent and welcoming. We invite you to explore our available pets and discover the companion who is waiting to meet you.

Get Involved

You can make a difference today by visiting us at our Littleton facility, exploring our adoptable animals, or supporting our mission through donations and volunteer opportunities. Your contribution directly supports the daily care of our shelter residents, helping us continue our vital work. We invite you to join our village and become part of our compassionate community.

10/28 - Isa is so sweet! She’s a lab mix just under a year old. She is as happy as can be and still has her puppy energy. She’s good with dogs and would do best with kids 8 and older who can understand that she can be shy occasionally. Take a look at her profile at the link in our bio. Visit hsspv.org/ to find out more about their animals, give them a call at 303-703-2938 or visit their shelter at 2129 W. Chenango Ave., Unit A, Littleton, Colo. 80120.

10/21 - We got the pleasure of hanging out with adorable Veronica this week! She’s just a puppy at 5 moths old, and we think she’s an Australian cattle dog and shepherd mix. She is very playful, sweet, energetic and happy – all good things! She’s good with cats (huge bonus!) and would benefit from another dog in the house. Older kids are recommended.
