Longmont Humane Society is dedicated to the welfare of animals, with a mission of caring, serving, and educating to improve the lives of companion animals. We believe that it is our responsibility to safeguard the physical and behavioral well-being of the animals in our care as well as in our community.
Established as an independent non-profit in 1972, we have grown into a vital community resource beyond a traditional shelter. Our 58,000 square foot facility at the Allen Center allows us to support thousands of homeless animals annually while providing essential community services like low-cost veterinary care and food assistance.
As a Socially Conscious™ organization, we pride ourselves on maintaining a high live release rate through a blend of high-quality shelter care and a robust foster program. Every dog, cat, and small mammal receives nutritious food, meticulous health care, and daily exercise from our dedicated team. Our foster network provides an essential bridge, allowing shy or vulnerable animals the time and specialized attention they need to decompress and thrive.
We believe every animal is an individual, and we are committed to finding the perfect match for both you and your future companion. Our Adoption and behavior programs ensure that pets are well-prepared for their transition into your home. We celebrate the joy of adoption and are here to support the human-animal bond for a lifetime.
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our community programs, we invite you to be a part of our mission. Visit us at 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont to meet our adoptable animals and see how your support makes a real difference in our community today.
