The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is dedicated to providing a safe haven for animals in need while promoting adoptions and humanely reducing pet overpopulation. We strive to create a future where every cat and dog enjoys the gift of a loving home.
Since our founding in 1984, we have remained a private, nonprofit organization committed to the welfare of animals in Archuleta County. From our modest beginnings with a single donated gold coin, we have grown into a vital community resource operating our dedicated shelter on Cloman Boulevard and a local thrift store.
We are proud to be a no-kill shelter. We do not euthanize animals based on shelter capacity or length of stay, and we are committed to the well-being of every animal that enters our care. Our team invests whatever time, resources, and energy are necessary to ensure our residents thrive until they find their perfect forever families.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to ensure a successful match between you and your new pet. Our dedicated staff provides comprehensive support, from answering questions about pet behavior to ensuring every animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before heading home. We believe in transparency and providing you with all the information you need to start your new life together on the right foot.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable animals online, visit us at our shelter on Cloman Boulevard, or learn more about how you can support our work through volunteering and donations. Your support makes the second chances we provide possible.
