Rocky Mountain Collie and Sheltie Rescue, Inc. (RMCSR) is dedicated to promoting and providing for the humane treatment of Collies and Shelties. We work throughout the Rocky Mountain Region to rescue, rehabilitate, and place lost, abused, or abandoned dogs into loving, responsible homes.
Founded in 1979 as a volunteer-operated organization, we have grown from small beginnings into a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit. For decades, our team has remained committed to the welfare of these breeds, evolving into the dedicated network of volunteers that serves our community today.
We believe every dog deserves a safe, comfortable environment while awaiting their forever family. Our rescue dogs live in private foster homes where they receive personalized attention, social interaction, and complete veterinary care, including spay-neuter services and essential medical treatment. By operating entirely through a volunteer network rather than a public facility, we ensure each dog gets the specialized care they need to thrive.
Adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership, and we are here to help you find the right companion. Our matching process is thoughtful and thorough, including a vet reference check, a conversation with our director and the dog’s foster family, and a home visit. This careful approach helps us ensure that our rescued dogs find the security and stability they truly deserve in their new homes.
Are you ready to welcome a new four-legged friend into your family? We invite you to browse our available animals and read our adoption policies to learn more about our process. Please reach out to us if you have questions, as we are always here to help you begin your journey toward a new, loving friendship.
