Meriden Animal Control/Saving Paws
Our Mission
Meriden Animal Control is dedicated to serving our community by protecting the welfare of domestic animals and fostering a safe, harmonious environment for both pets and their owners. We are committed to the compassionate care of the animals in our charge and the fair enforcement of the ordinances that keep our city safe.
Who We Are
As an essential arm of Meriden Police Operations, our team works tirelessly to manage the community's animal-related needs. We serve as a dedicated resource for the city, coordinating closely with partners like the Meriden Humane Society and the Connecticut Humane Society to provide the best outcomes for the animals we serve.
How We Operate
Our work is centered at our facility located at 311 Murdock Avenue, where our team of Animal Control Officers cares for animals in need, including those that are sick or injured. Whether we are out in the field or working on-site, our primary goal is to ensure every animal receives appropriate care and protection. Because our facility is not a 24-hour operation, our officers maintain a dedicated presence to respond to complaints and manage animal care effectively.
Your Role in Our Community
Finding the perfect companion is a journey of heart and home, and we are here to support that process. By choosing to care for a pet, you become a vital part of our efforts to ensure every animal in Meriden has a safe place to thrive. We invite you to be a responsible pet owner by keeping your dog licensed and joining us in our commitment to animal welfare.
