Animals for Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, placement, and compassionate care of animals in need. We are committed to improving the quality of life for homeless, abused, and neglected animals through advocacy, educational resources, and thoughtful adoptive placements.
Founded in 1996, our journey began with a simple yet powerful goal: to provide needy animals with loving, forever homes. Almost thirty years later, we continue to address the pet overpopulation challenges in Connecticut by combining direct rescue efforts with essential public education and community outreach.
We are a community-focused rescue operating out of our shelter location in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Every animal in our care receives the vetting, food, and support necessary to ensure they are healthy and prepared for their next chapter. Beyond our rescue work, we are proud to support local animal welfare through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, helping to manage feral cat populations humanely.
Adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership, and we strive to make the best possible match between your family and our pets. Our adoption counselors work closely with you to understand your lifestyle, ensuring that every placement is set up for long-term success. From providing training advice to offering post-adoption support, we remain here for you long after your new companion arrives home.
Whether you are ready to open your heart to a new companion or wish to support our work through volunteering or donations, we invite you to be part of our community.
