The Animal Haven Inc.
A Legacy of Compassion
The Animal Haven, Inc. has been providing a humane, no-kill refuge for homeless, abandoned, and surrendered cats and dogs since 1948. We are dedicated to providing these animals with the care and security they deserve while we work diligently to find them loving, permanent homes.
Our Story
For over 75 years, we have served the Greater New Haven area and beyond, stepping in to help animals in need, including those at risk from municipal shelters. Located on a beautiful seven-acre property in North Haven, our private, non-profit shelter continues a proud tradition of animal welfare that relies on the generous support of our community.
A Commitment to Care
Our facility is designed with the well-being of our residents in mind, featuring a state-of-the-art HVAC system and a medical examination room. Cats enjoy a comfortable, cage-free environment with plenty of perches, while our dogs stay in spacious, climate-controlled kennels with access to outdoor runs and play pens. Our professional, compassionate staff ensures every animal receives a health assessment, vaccinations, and the love they need while awaiting their forever families.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that successful adoptions happen when we take the time to understand each animal's unique personality and needs. Our team works closely with adopters to ensure a thoughtful, safe transition, which is why we guide you through a personalized application and meeting process. We are committed to never giving up on our animals, offering them a safe sanctuary for as long as they need one.
