Suncoast Basset Rescue Inc.
Giving Bassets a Second Chance
Suncoast Basset Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming basset hounds across Florida. We believe that every hound deserves a fresh start as someone’s best friend, and we work every day to turn that belief into reality.
Our Journey and Commitment
Founded in 1997, we have spent nearly 30 years helping hounds in need, ranging from strays and shelter dogs to owner surrenders. As an all-volunteer team, we are driven by our passion for this wonderful breed and a simple mission: to provide the care and advocacy our bassets need to thrive.
A Network of Care
We are a foster-based organization, meaning we do not operate a central kennel facility. Every basset in our care lives in a safe, loving home environment with one of our screened foster families, where they receive individualized attention and medical support as they prepare for adoption.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we take great care to ensure the best fit for both you and your future companion. Our process includes thorough home visits and interviews, allowing us to understand your lifestyle and match you with a dog that will be a perfect addition to your family. We are here to support you throughout the transition, ensuring every dog finds their final, forever home.
Get Involved
We invite you to rewrite a basset's future by becoming part of our rescue community. Whether you are ready to open your heart to a new companion or want to support our mission through fostering, donating, or volunteering, there is a place for you here.
