Walton County Animal Services
Our Mission
The Walton County Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing a safe, temporary haven for lost, stray, and abandoned animals while working tirelessly to secure their future in a loving, permanent home.
Serving Our Community
Since assuming control of animal services in March 2014, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has made animal welfare a core component of our commitment to public safety. We understand that our pets are family, and we serve as a vital resource for residents across the county to reunite with lost companions or welcome new ones into their lives.
How We Care
Our shelter facility is a hub of compassion, where our staff and dedicated volunteers work daily to provide care and enrichment for the animals in our custody. We pride ourselves on creating a professional, supportive environment where every dog, cat, and livestock animal receives attentive care while they await their forever families.
Connecting You with a New Best Friend
Finding the perfect home for each animal is not just our job—it is our passion. We utilize strategic behavior testing to understand each pet’s personality, helping us ensure that every adoption is a successful, joyful, and long-lasting partnership for both the animal and your family.
