Volusia County Animal Services
Our Mission
Volusia County Animal Services is dedicated to providing compassionate animal care to the public in the most effective, efficient, and courteous manner possible. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership through community outreach and proactive education for all our residents.
Serving Our Community
Located in DeLand, our animal intake shelter serves the unique needs of our unincorporated areas, as well as the cities of Oak Hill and Pierson. By enforcing essential animal ordinances, we work to protect public health and ensure that every animal in our care is treated with dignity and professional attention.
Our Care Model
Our facility provides a safe, secure environment for stray and quarantined animals as they await their next chapter. We believe in the power of collaboration and proudly partner with local organizations, including the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, Edgewater Animal Shelter, and New Hope Animal Shelter, to help more animals find their perfect homes. Additionally, our foster program allows vulnerable pets to recover and thrive in a nurturing home environment.
Finding Your New Best Friend
Adopting a shelter pet is a rewarding journey that changes two lives forever: yours and theirs. Because thousands of animals come through our doors each year, your persistence and patience in finding a companion ensure a lifetime of love, commitment, and joy.
