West Volusia Humane Society DBA New Hope Animal Shelter
A Commitment to Compassion
At New Hope Animal Shelter, we believe that great things are done by a series of small things brought together. Our mission is to provide protection and care for animals while helping our community thrive through successful adoptions and partnerships.
Our History and Our Heart
Rooted in DeLand, Florida since the 1950s, the West Volusia Humane Society began when five local residents banded together to address the needs of stray animals in our area. Today, we continue that legacy as a no-kill shelter, operating on a beautiful property shaded by historic oak trees where our animals can enjoy plenty of fresh air and space.
How We Serve Our Animals
As a dedicated team of pet lovers, we focus on providing a nurturing environment for every animal in our care. While we are not an open-admissions facility and operate based on available space, we are deeply committed to the well-being of the pets we welcome. Our staff works tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives the respect and dignity they deserve until they find their forever family.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in the power of building a lasting, positive bond between pets and their new owners. Our team is here to support you in finding a companion that fits your life, and we take pride in the connections we facilitate every day. We invite you to experience the warmth of our shelter and see the wonderful personalities waiting to meet you.
