At Pet Welfare, our mission is simple: we ensure every animal in our care finds a loving home. For over 40 years, we have been dedicated to providing a safe, no-kill haven for pets in need of a fresh start.
Founded in September 1982, Pet Welfare was created to support military members who needed a safe place for their pets during times of transition. Today, we remain committed to serving both military families and our local community by providing sanctuary for those who must relinquish their beloved companions.
We operate as an all-volunteer, non-profit shelter that relies on the dedication of our community, foster families, and supporters. While we do not take in strays, we focus our resources on providing high-quality, compassionate care within our facility. We receive no financial support from the military or the Department of Defense, depending entirely on donations, grants, and adoption fees to keep our doors open.
Adoption is a beautiful journey, and our goal is to create the perfect match for both our animals and our adopters. By taking the time to understand the unique personalities of the cats and dogs in our care, we help ensure each transition results in a joyful, lifelong partnership. We take pride in the happy endings we facilitate every day.
We invite you to discover the wonderful animals currently waiting for their forever homes. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer your time, or support our efforts through a donation, your involvement makes a world of difference.
