Nassau Humane Society improves the lives of homeless animals in our community by providing them shelter and compassionate care. We are dedicated to the vision of a loving home for every pet.
For over 25 years, we have served the pets and people of Amelia Island, North Florida, and South Georgia. As a community-powered nonprofit, our work is made possible entirely by the neighbors, volunteers, and donors who stand with us to address animal welfare challenges like overpopulation.
We provide more than just a roof; we offer a safe haven where animals receive medical care, enrichment, and love until they find their forever families. We never euthanize for space or financial reasons, and we actively widen our circle of care to support animals in need from surrounding, overcrowded facilities. Our operations are supported by our adoption center, a dedicated pet food bank, and our resale stores, which directly fund our lifesaving mission.
We love bringing pets and people together, and our adoption process is designed to thoughtfully match each animal with the best home for their individual needs. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a sweet senior cat, our staff and volunteers are here to help you find your perfect forever friend.
We invite you to experience the joy of adoption by visiting our center to meet our furry friends—no appointment is necessary. If you are ready to make a difference, we welcome you to join our community of volunteers, fosters, and supporters. Together, we can ensure every homeless pet gets the loving future they deserve.
