Gulf Coast Humane Society

A Safe Haven for Southwest Florida

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is dedicated to being a safe haven for pets in need by providing medical care, promoting adoptions, and nurturing the bond between pets and people. With compassion at the heart of everything we do, we provide care, healing, and hope across our community.

Our History and Commitment

Rooted in our community since 1947, we are the most tenured, 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization in Southwest Florida. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to ensure that our programs effectively serve both the homeless pets who arrive at our doors and the cherished pets already in loving homes.

Care with Heart

Operating as a private, non-profit organization, we rely entirely on the generosity of the community to sustain our mission. Our Fort Myers campus serves as a center for recovery and care, offering a shelter environment, an adoption center, and professional veterinary clinics. Whether through foster programs, medical services, or behavioral support, every action we take is designed to prioritize the well-being of the animals in our care.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Adopting a pet is a life-changing journey, and our team is thrilled to help you find the companion that best fits your lifestyle. We take great care to ensure that each adoption is a thoughtful partnership, fostering long-term happiness for both the pet and your family. We are here to support you throughout the process so you can feel confident in managing the challenges and joys of pet ownership.

Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to explore our adoptable cats and dogs online or visit our Adoption Center in Fort Myers to see how you can make a difference. Join us in our mission to create a healthier, more cared-for future for every pet in Southwest Florida.
