South Lake Animal League
Our Mission
The Animal League is dedicated to reducing and preventing animal abuse, neglect, and homelessness through our commitment to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats and dogs. Since 1988, we have served as a compassionate resource for animals in our community and beyond.
Our History and Community
Established on a small group’s passion for a no-kill policy, we have grown into an essential organization for animals in Central Florida. Because we receive no government funding or taxpayer support, our work is made possible entirely through the generosity of people like you.
How We Help
Our comprehensive rescue process ensures every pet receives the care they deserve. Upon arrival, pets are medically assessed at our New Hope Intake Center, treated for injuries or illnesses in our recovery facilities or foster homes, and prepared for their new lives. We believe in providing the best routine and specialized veterinary care to every animal that enters our doors.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We pride ourselves on our first best match approach to adoption. Rather than first-come, first-served, we take the time to align a pet's unique personality and needs with your lifestyle to ensure a lifetime of happiness for your family. Our dedicated volunteers and staff work diligently to prepare each animal for their forever home, ensuring that when you meet, they are happy, healthy, and ready for you.
