Our Mission
MarrVelous Pet Rescues and Adoptions is a 100% foster-based non-profit organization dedicated to saving abandoned, neglected, and stray animals in the Florida Keys. Our mission is to provide immediate care and medical treatment for these animals, giving them a second chance at forever love.
Our Story
Founded in 2007, our rescue journey began when our founders rescued an abandoned hunting dog and, shortly after, a litter of puppies left in the sun. These experiences inspired us to form a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization to help the many animals in our community that need a helping hand. We believe that rescue is our favorite breed and that every pet deserves a safe, loving future.
How We Help
We are almost entirely volunteer-operated, relying on a dedicated network of foster homes to provide a nurturing, home-like environment for our animals. By living in foster care rather than a facility, our pets are well-socialized and prepared for their new lives. This foster-based model also allows us to get to know each animal's unique personality and needs intimately.

Because our animals live in foster homes, we have valuable insights into their temperaments that help us make the best matches for our adopters. We screen every application carefully to ensure safety, reflecting our commitment to the lifelong well-being of our rescues.
