Precious Paws Rescue, Inc. (PPR) is dedicated to providing compassionate care and finding the perfect forever homes for pets in need throughout Citrus County and surrounding areas. Our mission is centered on the well-being of our animals, ensuring every rescued pet receives the love and support they deserve while waiting for their new family.

Founded as an all-volunteer charity organization registered in the State of Florida, PPR was honored to be recognized as the Best of the Best in 2021 by the Citrus County Chronicle. We operate with a deep commitment to our local community, serving pets and families in Inverness, Hernando, Homosassa, Crystal River, and neighboring counties.

How We Provide Care

We are a passionate team of volunteers with no paid staff, relying entirely on the generosity of donations to fund the care of our rescued pets. Our team works tirelessly to manage our adoption center, foster animals in need, and handle the daily clerical and computer tasks that keep our rescue thriving. Because we are powered by volunteers, we are always looking for more hands to help us continue this vital work.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We believe that successful adoptions are built on thoughtful connections, which is why we guide every adopter through an application and interview process. Our goal is to ensure a harmonious fit for both the pet and the family, and we remain a lifelong safety net for our rescues; if an adoption does not work out for any reason, the pet is always welcome back home with us.
