The Leesburg Humane Society is a dedicated, no-kill, non-profit organization focused on rescuing abandoned pets and placing them into loving forever homes.
Serving Our Community Since 1960
For over sixty years, we have served our local community as a private animal shelter, relying solely on private donations rather than government funding to provide the best possible care for our animals. Our commitment to animal welfare is guided by our formal Animal Bill of Rights, which ensures every pet in our care receives quality food, medical attention, and physical or mental stimulation.
Our Care Model
As a smaller shelter, we take great pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable environment where our staff and volunteers work together to socialize and nurture every animal. We believe in providing a safe haven where no animal is forced to wait alone, and we are proud to be supported by a wonderful group of volunteers who help us walk dogs, comfort cats, and keep our facility welcoming for all.

Every pet that graduates from our shelter is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ensuring they are healthy and ready to join your family.
