Humane Society of South Brevard
Our Mission
The Humane Society of South Brevard is dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and placing homeless cats into loving homes. We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment for every cat until they find their perfect match or live out their golden years with us.
Who We Are
As a non-profit, no-kill organization, we operate entirely without federal, state, or local government support. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue our vital work for stray and abandoned cats in Melbourne, Florida. Our shelter provides a specialized space where cats can roam freely and receive the love and care they deserve.
Our Care Model
We pride ourselves on our free-roam cat shelter, which allows our residents to socialize and live in a low-stress, comfortable environment. While our staff manages the daily operations, we are a privately funded organization that prioritizes the health and well-being of every cat in our care. Our focus remains on preparing each feline for a successful transition into a permanent, lifelong home.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in thoughtful matching to ensure a happy, lasting partnership for both you and your new cat. We encourage you to visit our shelter to interact with our adoptable cats and spend time engaging with our knowledgeable staff to find the right personality for your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a playful kitten or a calm adult cat, we are here to support you throughout the process.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to experience the warmth of our shelter firsthand by visiting us Wednesday through Sunday. You can browse our available cats online or stop by to meet your future best friend in person. Join us in our ongoing efforts to improve the lives of cats in our community through volunteering, donations, or by welcoming a rescue into your home.
