Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch

Welcome to the Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch (HSLWR), a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded with a mission to provide a safe haven for companion animals in need. We believe in fostering kindness and respect for all animals, whether they are young, old, or have special needs. Our commitment to quality medical care is central to our operations, ensuring that every animal receives the attention they deserve while in our care. At HSLWR, we prioritize educating our community about responsible pet ownership and enforce stringent adoption policies to ensure that each animal is placed in a suitable and loving forever home. Our philosophy extends to offering support for volunteer efforts within our community, recognizing the invaluable role that compassionate individuals play in our mission. Our journey began with a small, passionate group determined to save homeless animals in Manatee County, and has since grown to touch the lives of countless animals. We moved from a modest shelter to a stunning state-of-the-art facility, thanks to the generosity of our benefactors and the hard work of our volunteers. We partner with the University Animal Clinic, ensuring expert care for our animals. We invite you to explore various ways to get involved, whether through adoption, volunteering, or donations. Your support makes a significant difference in the lives of the animals we care for. Our regular adoption hours are Friday through Sunday, from 11 AM to 4 PM, with no appointments necessary. Walk-ins are always welcome! Join us in our mission to rescue and rehome lost or abandoned pets and be part of a caring community that shares a profound love for animals.
