Our Story
Our journey began with one special husky named Sophie. After our founder, Kathy Blackman, rescued her from a difficult situation in 2009, she realized that many other wonderful, loyal dogs were being left behind every day. This realization sparked a mission to ensure that every life matters and to provide a bridge to a better future for animals in need.
How We Help
Unlike traditional shelters, Sophie’s Circle does not have a physical facility. Instead, we rely on a compassionate network of private foster homes to provide a safe, loving, and temporary environment for our dogs. This unique approach allows us to get to know each pet’s personality intimately while supporting them with food, training, and veterinary care until they find their perfect forever family.
