Humane Society of Greater Miami
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a limited-admission, adoption-guarantee facility dedicated to placing every dog and cat in our care into a loving home. We strive to create a more kind, just, and compassionate community for the pets and people of Miami-Dade County.
Our Journey and Community
Since 1936, we have been working tirelessly to support homeless animals across the region. As a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue our mission of promoting responsible pet ownership and providing life-saving services.
A Safe Haven for Every Pet
At our Soffer and Fine Adoption Center, we provide shelter, nutritious meals, and medical care for over 400 animals each day. Because we are an adoption-guarantee facility, every animal in our care is free from the threat of euthanasia due to time, space, or treatable medical issues, allowing them to wait as long as it takes to find their perfect family.
The Joy of Adoption
We believe pets are cherished family members, and we are committed to making the right match between you and your new companion. Our team provides guidance and counseling to ensure every adoption is a long-term, joyful partnership where both the pet and the person feel secure and loved.
Take the Next Step
Whether you are ready to welcome a new friend into your home or want to learn more about our work, we invite you to visit us in North Miami Beach. Discover your future companion among our available pets or explore the many ways you can get involved and make a difference today.
