SGT Canines is a Miami-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing abandoned, abused, neglected, medical, and at-risk dogs while empowering our community through education, support, and second chances. We believe that every dog deserves the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and loved life.

The goal is to come together as a community and find this loving senior a GOOD and LOVING home before Thanksgiving! No more holidays at the shelter for the longest-stay senior. At 68 lbs, he’s full of life—he loves walks, treats, and butt scratches! He’s practicing his leash manners and responds well to redirection. ❤️ 🐾 Has participated in dog playgroups; needs slow introductions and dogs who match his play style. 🚫 No cats. 🚫 No small breed dogs Come meet Terrance OUTSIDE his kennel BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. 10/2 - Maya update 🤍 Her reel reached over 50,000 views—and someone stepped up! Husky Haven of FLORIDA , a husky-specific rescue located in Florida, said YES to taking her. She’s staying with us until Sunday, then heading to her next chapter with them, where she’ll receive veterinary care, a wonderful foster, and get ready for her forever happy ending. We can’t wait to continue watching her story be told. Thank you to everyone who shared her plea, and to @huskyhavenflorida for giving Maya this chance. 9/30 - Ariel update ❤️ Ariel is using her right back leg more after surgery, but the bone is healing much more slowly than we hoped. Her injured front leg has become increasingly difficult to use, and her vets agree amputation is her best option once her back leg is strong enough to support her. This sweet puppy still wants to run and play. For now, we’re giving her the time, therapy, and care she needs to heal. We need to raise at least $3,000 more for Ariel’s ongoing care. 9/24 - PUPDATE: IN FOSTER THROUGH MDAS Meet Sammy #A2811917 . A 5 year old Rottweiler who has been overlooked far too long. He is available for rescue, foster, and adoption at Miami Dade Animal Services. He is heartworm positive and will continue treatment through the shelter for any adopter or foster. Although he has not formally done playgroups, yesterday, while on his walk with us, he passed by two small breed dogs with a happy face and tail wags, continuing this same expression as he passed by a cat hissing and meowing. His demeanor was absolutely amazing. He is a life size teddy bear. #adoptdontshop
