Doberman Rescue League, Inc. is a dedicated, volunteer-only organization committed to rescuing, protecting, and educating the public about the Doberman breed. Our passionate team gives their time, expertise, and love to provide a vital second chance to Dobermans in need.
Our Story
Established in 1977 as a non-profit corporation, we have spent decades serving as a lifeline for Dobermans in South Florida. We recognize that our community often serves as a difficult environment for unwanted animals, and we strive to provide a safe haven for those who have faced hardships, neglect, or abandonment.
Our Approach to Care
We are a 501(c)(3) organization that takes full responsibility for our dogs until they find their perfect forever families. Our foster homes act as the backbone of our rescue, offering a safe environment where these dogs can rehabilitate and thrive. Every dog in our care receives comprehensive medical attention, including vaccinations, heartworm testing, and spay/neuter services, ensuring they are ready for a healthy life.

By conducting in-depth home visits and veterinary reference checks, we ensure that every Doberman is paired with a family uniquely suited to their needs and personality. Thankfully, he’s now safe with Doberman Rescue League and getting his chance at a better life! 🏡❤️ Boston has already been neutered and had entropion surgery while at the shelter. He knows a few commands and absolutely LOVES affection! 🥰 Unfortunately, Boston came out of the shelter with kennel cough, so he’s been in isolation while he recovers. We’re looking forward to getting to know this boy better and discovering all the wonderful things that make him special. We will tell you that Boston is quite strong on a leash! 💪 But with some patience, consistency, and training, we believe this handsome boy has all the potential to become an amazing companion. 10/14 - ❤️ MEET CREED… OR SHOULD WE CALL HIM TEDDY? 🧸🐾 I spent some time with 4-year-old CREED today, and honestly, I think he looks more like a Teddy than anything else! ❤️ At 100 pounds, this stunning Doberman may look intimidating, but underneath that big, powerful frame is a sweet boy who needs someone to show him the way. 🐾 Creed has been through training, which is a great start! Because of his size and strength, he needs a knowledgeable Doberman owner who understands the breed and can provide the structure, guidance, and consistency he deserves. His former owner surrendered him because he didn’t have a yard or enough time to spend with Creed. 10/13 - 💙 MAGNUM THE MAGNIFICENT IS STILL WAITING… WHY HASN’T ANYONE CHOSEN HIM YET? 💙 Meet MAGNUM, a gorgeous 6-year-old Doberman boy who deserves a chance to shine in a home of his own! 🐾 Sadly, Magnum lost his home after giving in to temptation and going after the chickens who shared his yard. 😬 While we can’t have him around chickens, we know there is so much more to this big, lovable boy! ❤️ Here’s why MAGNUM deserves a chance: 🐾 He’s a big sweetheart with every human he meets. 🐾 He previously lived with two female Dobermans and may do well with a calm female companion after proper introductions. 🐾 He walks nicely on a leash. 🐾 He keeps a very clean kennel and often patiently waits for volunteers to take him outside rather than soil his run! Magnum lived outdoors, so he may need a little help learning his indoor manners, but that’s nothing a patient, committed adopter can’t work on with him. Because Magnum is a big, strong boy with a high prey drive, he needs a capable handler, a securely fenced yard, and a home where he can safely enjoy life without tempting feathered friends. 🐔😉 This magnificent boy has so much love to give.
