Our Mission
Everglades Angels Dog Rescue is a dedicated, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to end the suffering of abandoned, feral, and displaced dogs in the Everglades ecosystem. We are committed to providing a no-kill sanctuary where every dog is treated with the compassion and medical care they deserve while awaiting their forever home.
Our Story
Our journey began with Lilly, a courageous dog found abandoned in the vast, untamed Everglades. Her rescue by our founder, Bev, sparked a mission to offer hope to countless other dogs facing similar hardships, from survival in harsh environments to the challenges of being discarded by backyard breeders. Today, her spirit lives on in every joyful wag and successful adoption we facilitate.
Our Care Model
We pride ourselves on our meticulous approach to rescue, ensuring every dog receives comprehensive veterinary care, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. We also established The Haven, a nurturing sanctuary where our dogs can socialize and thrive in safety. Through our dedicated network of fosters and volunteers, we provide the emotional support and training necessary to heal past wounds.

10/11 - Dear Forever Family, I have been here before. I want you to know that - not because I want you to feel sad about it, but because I think it is important that you understand what I am looking for this time. 🤍 I am Ollie. I am gentle and devoted and I have eyes that apparently stop people in their tracks - the volunteers voted them Best in the building and I have been told this is not a small thing. I take my time deciding who I trust. I always have. And the first time around, that trust was not honored the way it deserved to be. So here I am. Back. Ready to try again. I am not bitter about it. That is not who I am. I am the kind of dog who shows up every single day with a quiet, steady heart and gives everything he has to the people who have earned it. 10/11 - Dear Forever Family, I am going to be honest with you. I am a lot. 🤍 I have a lot of energy. I have a lot of opinions. I have a very strong relationship with food that I do not apologize for and do not intend to change. I have been called Most Mischievous and Most Likely to Steal Kibble in the same year and I accepted both honors with complete confidence. But here is what I need you to know. Underneath all of that is a dog who is loyal and goofy and trying so hard every single day to be the best version of himself. I am food motivated - which means I am also highly trainable. I am high energy - which means I show up for every walk, every session, every moment with everything I have. I am a lot - which means when I love you, you are going to feel it completely. 🐾 I need an experienced home. Someone child-free who understands dogs like me - who sees the chaos and recognizes it for what it actually is, which is potential. I have so much of it. 10/10 - Charlie thinks about certain things constantly. Like, all the time. Without being asked. During walks. During the parts of walks where he is deciding which direction to go. During the aftermath of walks where he is processing everything that happened. 🚶 That one walk route from a few weeks ago that was genuinely perfect - the smells, the pace, the length, the turns. He has been trying to recreate it ever since and the research is ongoing and very serious. 💋 The moment someone earned his trust for the first time - the exhale, the lean in, the full personality that came flooding out immediately after. He thinks about this more than anyone knows and hopes it happens again soon. 🛋️ The couch spot that is going to be his someday - the right cushion, the right angle, the right person beside him. 9/30 - Kaylee has given love a lot of thought...and her thoughts are not subtle. 🐾 🌊 Quality Time - active, engaged, all-in quality time. Walks, water, tug-of-war, fetch - she wants her person right there for every single bit of it and she shows up the same way every time 🪢 Physical Touch - the zoomies always end somewhere close to her person and she intends to stay there until the next round of zoomies begins 💬 Words of Affirmation - "good girl" after a particularly committed hose-chasing session is her entire reason for being and she will do absolutely anything to hear it again 🏡 Acts of Service - structure, consistency, clear boundaries - she does not experience these as limitations. She experiences them as love.
