Happy Trails Animal Rescue

Our Mission

Happy Trails Animal Rescue is dedicated to building a safer, more educated, and pet-friendly community for both owners and animals across Central Florida. We strive to provide the essential resources and support necessary to reduce overpopulation and ensure every pet has a loving place to call home.

Our History

Founded in 2013, our organization has spent over a decade rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need from local shelters. In 2019, we expanded our impact by opening a first-of-its-kind Community Resource Center to support pet owners in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties, helping us get to the source of animal welfare challenges.

Our Care Model

We are a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue network. Because we do not use a centralized kennel, all of our adoptable animals live in warm, loving foster homes where they receive personalized care and attention. This approach allows us to truly understand each animal's personality, ensuring we can provide you with the most accurate information before you meet your new best friend.

Your Adoption Journey

We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, which is why we focus on mindful matching rather than just numbers. Our process is designed to help you find the right addition to your family, allowing you to meet with foster families and existing pets to ensure a perfect fit for everyone. Every adoption comes with free lifetime training support to help your new companion settle into their forever home seamlessly.

Join Our Community

Whether you are looking to open your heart to an adoptable pet or want to learn more about our resources, we invite you to connect with us. Visit our website to view our current adoptable pets, apply to bring a new friend home, or discover how you can get involved by volunteering or fostering. Together, we can create a brighter future for the animals of Central Florida.

10/10 - We had a VERY special guest at our group classes today. 🥹😭 Caden had taken group classes with us a few years ago. Her Mom got the devastating news that Caden has a very aggressive type of lymphoma and this sweet girl has been given very little time left. Her Mommy made her a bucket list, and we are so incredibly honored that it included stopping by one of our group classes to visit all of her old friends. Mom said her tail never stopped wagging when she was in class and that she knew she would love it. We hope she had the best day getting ALLLLLLL of the treats she wanted just for being her. 🥹🥰❤️😭 Please keep her and her Mommy in your thoughts as she goes through the rest of her bucket list that she gets many, many more good days.

9/19 - You guys are AMAZING!!!!!!! 🥹❤️😭 You came together and helped raise the money to cover all of Bella's surgery bill. 😭😭😭 She is recovering so well (and being kenneled stresses her) that the vet cleared her to go home with her foster for the weekend to rest. 🥹❤️🎉 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Her forever foster mom who has had her for the last two years, and also her original family whose childhood pet she was, are so, so, so eternally grateful to everyone who donated to help her. At nearly 18 years old this was a big, scary moment and we are so thankful that her mom didn't need to stress over money while she worried about Bellas health. You guys made that possible. 🥹❤️
