Southwest Florida German Shepherd Rescue
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide discarded or surrendered German Shepherd Dogs with a positive environment, healthy food, professional medical attention, and socialization. Through love and understanding, we strive to find these loyal companions their perfect forever homes within our local communities and across the state.
Our Story and Purpose
Founded in 2007 as a division of the Hoffer Family Foundation, our rescue began operations in early 2008. Over the past 18 years, we have been dedicated to re-homing nearly 2,000 purebred German Shepherds and other deserving friends, ensuring every dog receives the specialized care they need to thrive.
How We Provide Care
We operate out of our location in Punta Gorda, where every animal is thoroughly tested for health and temperament upon arrival. Because we believe in total transparency, we use 100% of our collected revenue directly for animal care, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, microchipping, and necessary medical treatments like heartworm care. We prioritize creating a stable, high-quality environment where our dogs can regain their confidence before joining your family.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
We are breed-specific, and we seek qualified families who understand the unique needs, training, and socialization requirements of the German Shepherd. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a lasting, joyful partnership by carefully matching each dog's personality with your family dynamics. We encourage you to be involved in the training process, as this dedication builds the lifelong bond that makes owning a German Shepherd so rewarding.
