Cat Depot
Our Mission
Cat Depot is dedicated to saving lives, finding loving forever homes, and providing the resources and education needed to improve the destiny of homeless cats. We are proud to be a trusted resource for cats and the people who love them.
Our Story
Our journey began on September 8, 2003, when a group of determined friends stepped up to save 262 cats from an overwhelmed local rescue. Recognizing that Sarasota lacked a dedicated safe haven for felines, they built one from the ground up, evolving from a crisis response into a nationally recognized leader in feline care.
How We Care
In 2009, we opened our 11,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, cage-free adoption center, a space designed specifically to honor the well-being and individuality of every cat. We believe in providing compassionate, individualized care, and we complement our rescue efforts with our on-site Cat Care Clinic to ensure affordable veterinary support remains accessible to our community.
Your Adoption Journey
At Cat Depot, we know the profound joy a cat brings to your life, and we are committed to making thoughtful, lasting matches. Our knowledgeable adoption counselors work with you one-on-one to find a companion that fits your lifestyle, ensuring that every cat finds a home where they can thrive and every person finds their perfect new best friend.

9/29 - You helped us help them… and now it’s time to meet Mint Chip, Cookie Dough, & Caramel 🥹🐾 These three siblings are together in foster care while receiving treatment for FIP. They recently came to Cat Depot for a recheck and weigh-in, and once they got home, it was right back to PLAYTIME 😂 Your support is giving these three the chance to keep growing, playing, and fighting. Thank you for being part of their journey 🐾 #catdepotsaveslives #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives

9/24 - It takes a village. ❤️ To rescue. To heal. To hope. To keep saying yes when a cat needs us most. Yesterday, our village showed up for Maui and the other kittens fighting FIP. We hoped to raise $3,000 for their lifesaving treatment—and you helped us reach and exceed that goal in less than two hours. Every donation, share and act of kindness helped make that possible. Thank you for being part of their village. Thank you for believing every life is worth fighting for. 🐾❤️ #NineLivesRescueFund #CatDepot #RescueCats
