At the St. Johns County Pet Center, we are dedicated public servants working to return lost pets to their families and provide safe, compassionate care for animals awaiting their forever homes. Our goal is to protect both our community and our furry companions through responsible pet ownership and support.
As a division of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, we understand the vital bond between people and their pets. We address a critical community need by operating a dedicated facility in St. Augustine, serving as a reliable resource for animal welfare and public safety.
Our facility is staffed by a dedicated team that prioritizes the comfort and health of every animal in our care. Our two veterinary technicians ensure that all incoming animals are thoroughly examined, scanned for microchips, and provided with necessary medical treatments. We strive to keep our shelter environment as comfortable and stress-free as possible while animals await their new beginnings.
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the right fit for your family. We encourage you to visit us with your family—both human and furry—to interact with our adoptable dogs and cats to ensure a happy, lasting connection. Our staff is committed to supporting this transition so that both you and your new pet feel confident and prepared.
We invite you to discover your new best friend by viewing our current adoptable pets on PetFinder.com or by visiting us at 130 N. Stratton Rd. in St. Augustine. You can also support our mission by following us on social media or learning about our volunteer and donation opportunities. We look forward to meeting you soon!
