Pet Pal Animal Shelter is dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized due to time limitations, illness, injuries, or lack of training. We strive to give these deserving animals a second chance at life by providing them with the care and support they need to find their forever homes.
Founded in the early 1980s, Pet Pal began when two women set out to address the high number of animals being lost to pet overpopulation. Since moving to Pinellas County in 2002, we have remained committed to this mission, even expanding our services to include an affordable veterinary clinic that helps the community prioritize responsible pet ownership and spaying/neutering.
As a proud no-kill shelter, we provide long-term care for our animals until they find the right permanent match. We invest significant resources into medical treatment and rehabilitation, ensuring that every pet we take in receives the professional care and compassion they deserve.
Adoption is a joyful partnership built on care and compatibility. When you visit our shelter, our adoption counselors help facilitate one-on-one time, ensuring a thoughtful match between you and your potential new companion. We prioritize transparency and safety for both our animals and your family, requiring meet-and-greets for existing household pets to ensure a harmonious transition.
