Heidi's Legacy Dog Rescue is a dedicated nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida, committed to the rescue and placement of unwanted companion dogs into loving forever homes. We believe that with love, compassion, and proper training, every rescue dog can become an incredibly awesome family member.
Our History
Established in 2002, our rescue was founded in honor of Heidi, a marvelous German Shepherd who was abandoned by her owners. While Heidi’s time with us was brief, she inspired us to dedicate our lives to saving other deserving animals who simply need a second chance at happiness.
Our Care Model
We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization powered by a passionate network of volunteers. Because we do not operate a physical facility, our rescued dogs live in safe, nurturing foster homes as part of the family, which allows us to provide individualized socialization and care. During their stay, every dog receives comprehensive medical attention, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and any necessary training to ensure they are ready for their new life.
