Lake County Animal Services
Our Mission
The Lake County Animal Shelter is dedicated to reuniting and rehoming the lost, abandoned, and surrendered pets of our community. We strive to provide a safe, temporary haven while ensuring positive and appropriate outcomes for every animal in our care.
A Commitment to Compassion
We serve as a vital resource for Lake County, protecting both our residents and our domestic animals. By prioritizing responsible pet ownership and community education, we work to build a future where every pet has a loving, forever home.
Our Care Model
As a no-kill shelter, we are committed to finding placement for healthy and treatable animals, ensuring they are not euthanized for time or space. Our facility is a place of transition where our dedicated team provides medical care, vaccinations, and support to prepare pets for their next chapter. Whether through our shelter, our foster network, or our unique initiatives like the Staycation Program, we work tirelessly to ensure our animals feel loved and valued during their stay.
The Joy of Adoption
We believe in the power of a perfect match and are here to help you find your new best friend. Our counseling services and transparent, health-focused process help ensure that your new companion fits seamlessly into your life, whether you are looking for a playful dog, a sweet cat, or a hardworking barn cat. Adopting is more than just a pet; it is a partnership that saves a life and enriches your own.
