SPCA of Brevard

Our Mission

The SPCA of Brevard is dedicated to protecting and providing a voice to homeless animals. We strive to create a compassionate community for both pets and people through collaborative, innovative care.

Our Story

Founded in 1979 in Titusville, Florida, we have grown to become the largest private no-kill animal rescue group in the county. For over four decades, we have remained committed to finding homes for thousands of animals and ensuring that families have the resources they need to stay together.

How We Care

As a managed intake shelter, we provide a safe, nurturing environment for animals waiting for their forever homes. We are proud to be the first facility in the county featuring free-roaming cat rooms, which allow our feline friends to interact in a comfortable, home-like setting. Our approach also includes supporting pet retention through a community pantry and access to microchip scanning stations.

A Joyful Partnership

Adoption is a wonderful beginning to a new life together, and we are here to ensure the perfect match. We prioritize one-on-one meet and greets for our dogs to help them feel at ease and give you the best sense of their true personality. Our team is always ready to provide resources to help you and your new family member transition smoothly during the initial adjustment period.

Join Our Movement

Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, foster, or donate, there are many ways to make a difference in the lives of local animals. We invite you to visit our adoption center, explore our current list of available pets, or join us at our next community event to celebrate the human-animal bond. Together, we can build a future where every animal has a loving home.

10/5 - 🐱☕ What a weekend at the Cat Cafe! We had an absolute blast at the Satellite Beach Library’s Cat Cafe! More than 150 people joined us to meet, greet and spend some time with our feline friends. ❤️ Even better? We celebrated SEVEN adoptions! 🎉 One of those lucky cats was Leo, one of our wonderful adult cats who quickly became a staff favorite after arriving at our shelter. We were thrilled to watch him head home with his new family! To all of the Cat Cafe volunteers, library staff and everyone who stopped by to visit, THANK YOU for making this event such a success. Events like this give our shelter pets another opportunity to meet potential adopters and show off their personalities outside of the shelter. As for our kittens and cats? They’re still taking plenty of cat naps to recover from all the excitement. 😹💤 Congratulations to all seven of our newly adopted feline friends! ❤️🐾 Brevard County Public Libraries

9/28 - Feeling stressed this Monday? 🧘‍♀️🐾 Take 45 seconds of zen with us as we revisit the wonderful Puppy & Kitten Yoga event hosted with @blissfitnessstudio ! ❤️ The puppies had an absolute blast running around the studio, watching everyone bend into all kinds of silly positions and, of course, taking full advantage of every opportunity to crawl into an open lap for some extra attention. The kittens had a slightly different approach. 😂 Some preferred to quietly spy on the yogis from the comfort of a hiding spot behind a couch or yoga mat, while others decided the entire class was actually about THEM and happily took center stage. And yes… our orange kitten was one of them. Shocking, right? 🧡😂 A huge thank you to Bliss Fitness Studio for organizing such a fun event and to everyone who joined us for a little movement, a little relaxation and a whole lot of puppy and kitten love. We think Mondays could all use a few more moments like this. 🐾❤️

9/18 - Help us welcome Tiramisu, Leroy, Spot and Oscar to the SPCA crew! 🐾❤️ Transports into our care can happen from near and far, and today, these four cutie pies made the short trip to us from our partners right here in Brevard County at the Brevard County, FL - South Animal Care and Adoption Center . Our partnership with Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Florida (Official) Animal Services plays an important role in our shared work to protect and care for homeless animals throughout Brevard County. And there is a LOT of coordination happening behind the scenes to make it all work! Did you know we have a BCSO Animal Adoption Counselor stationed right here in the front office of our Adoption Center five days a week? They work alongside our team to help process stray animals who come through our doors. When capacity allows, those animals can remain with us during their five-day stray hold. When we don’t have the space, our friends at BCSO coordinate daily transports to their facility. It takes exceptional communication, teamwork and coordination between both organizations. Today, a BCSO Animal Adoption Counselor and our friend, Jessica, brought Tiramisu, Leroy, Spot and Oscar over to join the SPCA crew and begin their journey toward adoption! We’re already asking Jessica all the important questions: What are their playgroup styles? Favorite treats? What makes them happiest? Anything that can help us make their transition into our care as seamless as possible. Now comes the fun part: getting to know them ourselves! ❤️ A huge thank you to Jessica, the entire BCSO Animal Services team, Sheriff Wayne Ivey and our team here at the SPCA of Brevard for everything they do to make this partnership such a success for the animals in our community. Stay tuned as we get to know Tiramisu, Leroy, Spot and Oscar!
