The Adopt A Cat Foundation is dedicated to providing essential food, compassionate care, and safe, loving shelter for homeless cats and kittens throughout Palm Beach County. We are proud to be the only true no-kill, all-cat rescue shelter in the region, ensuring every feline receives the attention they deserve until they find their forever home.

Our History and Purpose

Since our founding in 2000, we have successfully rescued and rehomed thousands of cats that were previously unwanted, abandoned, or abused. Our mission is built on the belief that every cat deserves a second chance at a happy life, and we work tirelessly to address the needs of our local feline population.

A Sanctuary for Healing

The Inga Hanley Rescue Shelter provides a unique, comforting environment for our residents. Beyond providing basic necessities and vital medical services—such as vaccinations, spay/neuter, and disease testing—we allow most cats to roam and play freely in the shelter, which helps them socialize and thrive while awaiting adoption.

10/8 - 🐾❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO HOLY TRINITY CHURCH! ❤️🐾 This past weekend was such a special one as Holy Trinity Church blessed the animals, celebrating the incredible bond between people and their beloved pets. 🐶🐱🙏 And we are so incredibly grateful that throughout the entire month of October, Holy Trinity Church will be setting up a table to help raise donations for Adopt-A-Cat Foundation! 🐾❤️ Their kindness, generosity, and willingness to support the cats who need us most means more than we can say. I may be just a little cat, but I know when people care. 9/28 - ARTEMIS — A LITTLE UPDATE FROM OUR HEART 💙 We recently held a fundraiser for our sweet Artemis, and honestly, it didn’t raise very much. But we don’t want that to take away from what really matters… Look at how far she has come. 🥹🐾 For the longest time, Artemis was almost completely unavailable to people. She kept her distance and lived very much on her own terms. But slowly—little by little—something changed. Now, she is allowing strangers to pet her. She is coming out of her shell. She is learning that people can be kind, and that she is safe. ❤️ And then she became very sick, leaving us with a $2,500 veterinary bill. So while our fundraiser didn’t bring in the amount we hoped for, every dollar truly matters. More importantly, Artemis matters. Some cats may not be the easiest to adopt. Some may take years to trust. Some may never become the “perfect” adoption story. But we believe they are worth fighting for anyway. Artemis is proof that sometimes the biggest victories happen quietly—one pet, one moment of trust, one little step at a time. 🐱💕 Thank you to everyone who has supported Artemis, shared her story, donated, or simply cared about her. 9/23 - 🚨🐱 BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CAT SHELTER! 🐱🚨 We interrupt your regularly scheduled scrolling to report a serious security incident at the shelter. A cat tunnel was strategically rolled directly in front of the doorway in what investigators believe was an elaborate attempt to TRIP INCOMING HUMANS. 😂 Witnesses report that two suspiciously innocent-looking “smart girls” were sitting nearby, calmly observing the situation. Authorities believe they were the masterminds behind the entire operation. 😼😼 Their alleged plan: 🐾 Place tunnel 🐾 Wait for unsuspecting human 🐾 Watch human stumble 🐾 Pretend they had absolutely NOTHING to do with it When questioned, both suspects refused to comment and instead demanded treats. 9/22 - WE’RE NOT THE TYPICAL SHELTER. ❤️ Yes, we have kittens. But our heart is with the cats who are often forgotten. The seniors. The shy ones. The medically fragile ones. The cats who have been waiting for years. And the ones who may never be adopted. Some may spend the rest of their lives with us. And we’re okay with that. Because they still deserve a warm bed, good food, medical care, comfort, and someone who loves them — every single day. We don't measure their worth by how quickly they find a home. We believe that every cat deserves to be loved for as long as they are here. But caring for these special cats takes a village. ❤️ Today our focus is on Artemis, a beautiful senior Siamese, who has been here way too long. Here is her story.
