Angels Among Us Pet Rescue
Our Mission
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is dedicated to our core philosophy: Rescue One Until There Are None. We strive to give every dog and cat the loving forever home they truly deserve.
Our Story
Founded in 2009 by LuAnn Farrell, Valerie Addington, and Mark Weinberg, our organization was born from a simple desire to provide more help for the animals in need across Georgia. Since our inception, our compassionate community of volunteers, fosters, and donors has helped us save over 23,000 lives.
How We Help
We operate as a foster-based rescue, which allows our animals to transition into family life within a home environment before they are adopted. This unique approach helps our rescues become better socialized and allows us to understand their unique personalities and temperaments deeply. By focusing on each animal individually, we ensure that every rescue is treated with the care and attention they need to thrive.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are committed to helping you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. Because we prioritize the success of every placement, our dedicated team works closely with you throughout the application and meet-and-greet process. When you adopt a rescue pet, you are not just getting a new family member; you are giving a deserving animal a beautiful second chance.

- Rigid application and documentation requirements
10/5 - This is the fostering effect. 💙 The dog staring at the wall in the shelter and the dog you see playing and enjoying life are the SAME dog. A temporary home gave her a safe place to land, decompress and finally show everyone who she really is. We desperately need more fosters right now. Angels Among Us is a foster-based rescue, which means every animal we save needs somewhere to go. When we don’t have that space, we have to say no to animals we could otherwise save. If you’ve thought about fostering but worried about the expense, we cover all approved veterinary care and can provide supplies if you need them. You provide a safe, loving place while they wait for their forever family. And when your foster is adopted, you’ve made room for us to save another. Fosters must live in the Greater Atlanta area.
