Fulton County Animal Services

Our Mission

Fulton County Animal Services is dedicated to ending the shelter euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals. We believe every pet deserves a loving home and are committed to saving lives through innovation and compassion.

A Lifesaving Partnership

Managed by LifeLine Animal Project since 2013, our shelter has been transformed into a beacon of hope for Atlanta’s animals. By addressing the root causes of pet homelessness and providing accessible care, we strive to keep people and pets together.

How We Care

10/18 - Why are so many dogs in Atlanta going without homes right now? Because so many people are struggling to keep theirs. More than 140,000 eviction filings were reported this year in Atlanta, forcing families to face heartbreaking decisions, including surrendering the pets they love. As more animals enter shelters, already overcrowded facilities are pushed to make decisions no one wants to make. Every week, shelters ask the public for help through adoption and fostering. This week, Fulton County Animal Services asked for 42 homes. We’re still waiting for 20 dogs to find placement. Carver is just one of them, nearly three days past his deadline. Our staff continues to advocate for these dogs, doing everything possible to find them homes. But we cannot do it alone. If you’re in Atlanta and have room in your home and heart, please come to the shelter today. Twenty dogs are still waiting for someone to choose them. Adopt or foster at Fulton County Animal Services. 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30336 Please don’t let another day pass without giving these dogs a chance. #dogs #dog #atl #adopt #adoptme

10/17 - Our remaining urgent dogs are now two days past their original deadline. We have continued fighting for them because we believe their lives are worth fighting for. Our goal is never to euthanize for space but we are over humane capacity. Think about the little things that make a house feel like home. The sound of paws following you from room to room. A dog curled up beside you at the end of a long day. A happy face waiting to greet you when you walk through the door. Those ordinary moments could be waiting for one of these dogs, too. They just need someone to give them the opportunity to experience them. We know not everyone can adopt or foster, but you can still help. Share this post. Send it to a friend. Think of the person who has been talking about getting a dog. Your share could reach the person who changes everything for one of them. We have until 6 PM today. Please help us make these hours count. Fulton County Animal Services 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30336

10/16 - We always say that when a deaf dog comes into the shelter, at least they aren’t blind. Because being blind in a shelter might be one of the hardest things a dog can experience in here. Imagine trying to navigate an unfamiliar place without being able to see. The echoing barks of hundreds of dogs. The constant commotion. Strange voices, unfamiliar scents, and the smell of a shelter filled with fear and stress. Now imagine trying to make sense of all of it when you’ve only recently lost your sight. Macy arrived at the shelter just days ago. She is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 42 lbs. She has lost her sight, and the person she knew is no longer by her side. Everything around her is unfamiliar. We can only imagine how confusing and frightening that must be. And yet, Macy is so sweet and gentle. She leans into people for comfort and has happily sniffed other dogs through the fence. When you say her name, she turns toward your voice. She comes closer, starts wagging her tail gently. I wish her confusion could end. I wish she could feel safe again. Macy is eligible for foster, adoption, or rescue. If you can help her find her way out of the shelter, please come meet her at Fulton County Animal Services. Contacts: Adoptions@fultonanimalservices.com Foster: Foster@fultonanimalservices.com Rescue: Rescue@fultonanimalservices.com Please help us find Macy a place where she can feel safe again.
