Humane Society's Mountain Shelter
Our Mission
At Mountain Shelter Humane Society, we are dedicated to protecting, healing, and rehoming animals in need. We provide compassionate care and strengthen our community through education, outreach, and lifesaving support to ensure every animal is given safety, dignity, and a chance at a better life.
Our Story
Born in 1986, our organization began when a group of dedicated community members recognized a vital need for a safe haven for forgotten, abandoned, and stray animals. What started as a humble effort to provide refuge quickly grew into a cornerstone of hope, driven by the belief that every dog and cat deserves a second chance.
How We Care
We operate an adoption center dedicated to a Fear Free environment where animals can feel safe and secure. By utilizing quiet spaces, gentle handling, and a trained team, we reduce stress to help each pet’s unique personality shine through. Our commitment extends beyond our walls, offering community resources like low-cost vaccines and microchipping clinics to support the bond between people and their pets.
Your New Beginning
When you adopt from Mountain Shelter, you are doing more than just providing a home—you are giving a deserving animal a future filled with comfort, companionship, and joy. Our team is here to help you find the perfect match, ensuring a successful transition for both you and your new best friend. We believe that every adoption is a new beginning and a partnership built on love.
