Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter
Our Mission
At the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter (MOAS), our mission is simple but vital: to save as many pets as possible. We are dedicated to providing a safe haven for animals in need while working to build a more compassionate community for every pet.
Our History and Community
Since our inception in 2002, MOAS has served as a primary solution for the stray animal population in Madison and Oglethorpe counties. We take our responsibility to the community seriously, acting as a bridge between animals in need and the loving homes they deserve.
How We Serve
We operate a dedicated facility where our staff and volunteer Board of Directors work tirelessly to manage day-to-day operations and animal care. Beyond housing pets, we offer essential community initiatives, including low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccine clinics, a pet food bank, and support for feral cat population control. By collaborating with regional rescue groups, we strive to improve outcomes for pets and their families throughout the area.
Your Role in Our Family
Adoption is the ultimate goal for every animal that enters our care, and we believe in creating successful, lifelong matches between pets and their new owners. When you adopt from MOAS, you are giving a deserving animal a second chance at happiness and becoming part of a larger, life-saving mission. Whether you choose to adopt, foster, or volunteer, your support helps us continue providing quality care for our residents.
