Gilmer County Animal Shelter
Connecting Hearts and Paws
At the Gilmer County Animal Shelter, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care for the cats and dogs in our community and finding them the loving homes they deserve. Our mission is to ensure every pet that comes through our doors receives a fresh start and a bright future.
Serving Our Community
Established as a vital resource for Gilmer County, our shelter serves as the primary depository for animals picked up by Gilmer County Animal Control. We believe that by providing a safe and reliable environment for these animals, we strengthen the bond between our residents and the pets who share our community.
Our Care Commitment
We take pride in preparing each animal for their journey to a new family. When you adopt from us, your pet has already been spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, and screened with a heartworm check. Our team is focused on daily exercise, socialization, and ensuring every animal is healthy and ready to join your household.
Find Your New Best Friend
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a playful dog or a sweet cat, our staff is happy to introduce you to the wonderful animals currently waiting for their forever homes. With a straightforward adoption fee—$125 for dogs and $75 for cats—the process of bringing home a new friend is simple and rewarding.
