Jackson County Government Animal Shelter
Our Mission
At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, our mission is to provide safe and humane care for unwanted, stray, and abused animals while promoting responsible pet ownership throughout our community. We are dedicated to protecting both our residents and our animals, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone in Jackson County.
Why We Are Here
We serve as a vital resource for our community, offering a safe harbor for animals in need. By providing humane shelter and fostering education on responsible animal care, we strive to make Jackson County a better place for pets and their human companions alike.
How We Care
Our shelter operations are focused on the health and well-being of every animal in our care. We prioritize medical excellence by ensuring each dog and cat is spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for common health issues like fleas, mange, or heartworms before finding their forever homes. Our dedicated team manages our facility in Jefferson, GA, with a focus on compassion and professional service.
The Adopter Connection
We believe that shelter pets are the best breed to adopt, offering endless love and gratitude to their new families. We make the adoption process transparent and straightforward, encouraging potential adopters to meet their future companions in a thoughtful environment. Whether you are looking for a new best friend or hoping to support our mission, you are an essential part of the life-saving journey for these animals.
