The Humane Society of Camden County is dedicated to being a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. We strive to assist in finding and placing specially selected animals into new, loving homes while encouraging kindness and consideration for all animals through public education.
Since our founding in 1986, we have operated as a private, non-profit organization serving our community. We are an independent entity, receiving no government or corporate funding, and we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters, grants, and fundraisers to continue our vital work.
We operate as a no-kill, selective admission shelter, which allows us to provide focused care for the animals currently under our roof. Our intake process is guided by the health and temperament of each animal, ensuring we have the resources to meet their individual needs until they find their perfect forever home. We believe in transparency and providing a clean, supportive environment for all our residents.
Choosing a new best friend is an exciting journey, and we are here to help you make a lifelong connection. Our team is committed to understanding the personality of each animal in our care, helping us facilitate thoughtful matches that create happy, successful partnerships between pets and their new families. We invite you to visit our shelter to meet the wonderful dogs, cats, and small mammals currently waiting for their chance at a new beginning.
Your support makes our mission possible, whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time, or contribute through our Paw Partners program. We invite you to explore our adoptable pets online or visit us at our Kingsland facility to see how you can make a difference. Together, we can provide the compassion and care every animal deserves.
