The Humane Society of Morgan County is dedicated to saving animal lives by promoting the adoption of healthy, friendly companion animals. We are committed to providing high-quality care and compassion to every animal entrusted to us until they find their forever home.
Founded in 1994, our organization began as a group of dedicated individuals committed to protecting animals in Morgan County. Since moving into our dedicated adoption center in 2014, we have successfully expanded our capacity to serve our community and now help more than 400 dogs and cats find loving homes every year.
We are a no-kill shelter that prioritizes animals from overcrowded animal control facilities and owner surrenders. Our facility on Fairground Road in Madison provides a safe, comfortable environment where our dedicated staff and caring volunteers provide daily care. Beyond adoptions, we actively work to reduce pet overpopulation through our spay and neuter programs and community education.
We believe that finding the perfect companion is a joyful experience, and we are here to help make that match a success. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy, a gentle senior dog, or a cuddly kitten, our team is committed to transparency regarding every animal’s background and needs. Our adoption process is designed to be efficient, with most adoptions finalized within 48 hours to get your new family member home as quickly as possible.
Are you ready to meet your next companion? We invite you to visit our adoption center or browse our available pets online to see who might be waiting for you. Together with the support of animal lovers like you, we can continue to improve the lives of animals in our community.
