The Atlanta Humane Society is dedicated to improving animal welfare in the southeastern United States by providing quality animal services, including preventative initiatives, education, advocacy, and the adoption of animals into permanent, loving homes.
Our History and Community
As one of the oldest charities in Atlanta, Georgia, we have been caring for our community and our animal friends for more than 150 years. We believe the relationship between humans and animals has deep significance, and we work together with animal advocates, volunteers, and community partners to save lives and instill compassion across the Atlanta Metro area.
Our Care Model
We champion the bond between pets and people through comprehensive programs that provide safety, support, and second chances. Our shelter operations are guided by dedicated teams committed to every pet’s health and progress, ensuring each animal receives medical assessments, behavior evaluations, and necessary care.
