Fixing the Boro is dedicated to providing a humane and sustainable solution to pet overpopulation in Bulloch County and the surrounding areas, one pet at a time. We strive to improve animal welfare through responsible pet ownership, education, and compassionate rescue efforts.
Founded in the spring of 2017 by Sarah Roehm, Beth Stembridge, and Chris Sterling, our organization began as a group offering vouchers to local veterinarians. By 2018, we expanded our services to include a dedicated rescue program, ultimately evolving into a comprehensive organization that tackles the root causes of pet homelessness through both rescue and low-cost sterilization services.
We are a licensed animal rescue based in Statesboro, GA, operating out of our facility on East Inman Street. While we maintain an adoption center, most of our adoptable dogs, cats, birds, and small animals live in the loving care of our foster network until they find their perfect match. We are proud to partner closely with the Bulloch County Animal Shelter to save lives and support our community.
Adoption is a joyful, life-changing partnership that directly reduces the number of unwanted pets in our community. We take great care to support our adopters with post-adoption resources, ensuring that every transition into your home is positive and successful. When you adopt from us, you aren't just gaining a companion; you are becoming an integral part of our mission to build a brighter future for local animals.
