The Humane Society of Statesboro & Bulloch County is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to ending pet overpopulation through adoption, spay and neuter services, and community education. Our ultimate goal is to foster a no-kill community where every pet enjoys a life of companionship and care.
Since the 1980s, we have been working tirelessly to provide a voice for animals in our community. We are an independent 501(c)(3) organization that relies entirely on the generosity of our community members, rather than government or national funding.
Because we do not maintain a traditional shelter building, we operate through a dedicated foster-based network. This approach allows our rescued animals to live in loving, temporary homes where they receive essential socialization, veterinary care, and individual attention while waiting for their perfect match. By focusing on these 'last chance' pets, we are able to provide a vital bridge to their forever families.
We believe that companion animals profoundly improve the physical and psychological lives of their humans. Our team takes great care in getting to know each pet’s unique personality, which helps us ensure a thoughtful match for every adopter. When you choose to adopt, you are not just gaining a new family member; you are directly participating in the effort to save lives.
Are you ready to find your new best friend? We invite you to view our current adoptable pets on our website or visit us at one of our monthly adoption events held at the Statesboro Petco. If you have questions about our process or would like to learn more about our mission, please reach out by calling 912-681-9393 or emailing borohumane@gmail.com.
