Bingham County Humane Society
Our Mission
The Bingham County Humane Society is dedicated to providing for the adoption and placement of rescued cats and kittens into permanent, loving homes. We strive to spread hope and compassion through community education, animal advocacy, and responsible pet guardianship.
Our Story
Since our organization was established in 1991, we have worked tirelessly to address the needs of cats in Bingham County. We are an independent, all-volunteer 501(c)3 public charity that relies on the generous support of our community through donations and small grants rather than municipal funding.
How We Care for Cats
Our dedicated team operates through a network of foster caregivers and a shelter facility in Blackfoot, where we provide medical treatment and love to rescued felines. We prioritize feline wellbeing by ensuring every animal in our care is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before finding their new family. By utilizing foster homes and our shelter, we prepare cats of all ages—from kittens to seniors—for their transition into a forever home.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
We believe in the joy of creating lifelong bonds between cats and humans. Because we provide care for cats with diverse personalities and needs, we help adopters choose the right match for their unique individual situation. Many of our cats are available for adoption through PetSmart in Idaho Falls, while our special needs and long-term residents are available to meet by appointment at our Blackfoot shelter.
